Every year, learners across Botswana demonstrate deep thinking and understanding during national examinations. In their composition writing, learning becomes visible — through ideas, expression, and clarity of thought. Yet once results are released, much of this work disappears.
GAP-IQ Excellence Series exists to ensure that excellence does not end with results day.
GAP-IQ Excellence Series is a national educational publishing initiative that recognises learners who demonstrated clear understanding and strong expression in their examination compositions.
Beginning with PSLE English and Setswana, selected exam-based stories are curated into professionally published anthologies. These are authentic compositions written under exam conditions, refined only after selection to meet high educational and publishing standards — while preserving each learner's original voice.
A strong composition is more than a mark.
It is evidence of understanding, confidence, and learning that has taken root.
Excellence Series ensures that such moments are recognised, respected, and preserved, reinforcing the idea that good learning has value beyond the exam room.
This project is not a competition.
Learners are not ranked, and schools are not compared. Stories are selected through a fair, blind review process conducted by independent educators, based on a clear standard of excellence.
Editing happens after selection, not before — ensuring that what is celebrated is understanding, not advantage or polish.
GAP-IQ helps learners identify learning gaps early and build mastery over time through targeted assessment. Excellence Series is how GAP-IQ celebrates that mastery when it appears in real assessments.
Together, they create a complete learning journey:
This is how learning becomes meaningful, motivating, and lasting.
